• Experiment
  Two YACs and a BAC were used to create a contig spanning the rd3 locus on mouse Chromosome 1. The order of markers was determined to be: D1Mit292 - D1Mit209 - D1Mit463 - D1Mit511 - D1Mit510 - D1Mit210 - M-06942 - M-01174. Ush2a was ruled out as a possible candidate as it was not present on any of the clones in the contig. The rd3 locus has been localized to an area of ~800kb between D1Mit292/D1Mit209 and D1Mit510.
