  The authors selected 50 samples from the EUCIB backcross at random and analyzed linkage to the 78 anchor markers. This showed that Wnt8b is located on Chromosome 19, closely linked to Scd1. A futher 41 animals identified as recombinants between D19Ler1 and D19Mit1 were analyzed. This confirmed the localization of Wnt8b to distal Chromosome 19 with a LOD score of 35.33.
