Notes
  • Experiment
The authors mapped the Cer1 gene to a series of radiation-induced deletions generated at the Tyrp1 locus on mouse Chromosome 4. PCR analysis was carried out with DNA from hybrid mice carrying deletions on one chromosome, opposite a chromosome derived from M. spretus. Ampplification of all DNAs produced a M. spretus derived fragment while the presence of a laboratory strain fragment indicated whether Cer1 was deleted from the deletion carrying chromosome. using this approach, the order of genes was found to be: Tyrp1 - l4Rn2 - Cer1 - D4Jkn1.
