The authors used 3 YAC and 15 BAC clones to construct a physical map of the Tlsr4 region. Several YAC and BAC derived polymorphic markers were isolated in this process. The order of markers in the Tlsr4 region on mouse Chromosome 12 was: D12Mit53 - Y11(II) - B19E(I) - MCA1 - B2N(I) - B3N(II) - YE6(II) - B3K(I) - D12Mit279. 361 thymic lymphomas were subjected to a high density scan. 33 samples that lost one allele at one or two of the three loci D12Mit53, B2N(I) and D12Mit279 were subjected to allelic loss mapping using the STS probes. Analysis of the allelic mapping information revealed that the region between B2N(I) and B3N(II) was consistently lost in these lymphomas. The region was estimated to be 35kb by PFGE analysis of BAC DNA. The authors estimatethat the Tlsr4 gene probably exists in the 35kb region and at least in the 100kb region between MCA1 and B3N(II).
