Notes
  • Experiment
The authors crossed bus/bus females and CAST males to generate (bus/bus x CAST)F1 progeny. A total of 689 F2 mice were obtained from intercrossing the F1 mice. Haplotype analysis of the bus/bus F2 mice and 176 normal F2 mice positioned the Cdh23 locus on Chromosome 10 between D10Mit127/D10Mit59 and D10Mit48/D10Mit112/D10Mit258. The results position the Cdh23 locus 1.09 +/- 0.2 cM distal to D10Mit127 and D10Mit59, and 0.72 +/- 0.51 cM proximal to a cluster of three markers, D10Mit48, D10Mit112 and D10Mit258. This is consistent with mapping data for Cdh23v-Alb Further, results from allellism tests by crossing bus/bus mice and +/bus mice to +/Cdh23v-Alb support that bus is another allele of Cdh23.
