  Southern analysis was informative to show that Eif2s3y mapped to the mouse Y Chromosome within the Sxr^b region. Positive hybridization using a Eif2s3y specific probe was observed in XXSxr^a. XXSxr^a and XXSxr^b mice develope as males due to presence of Sry within the Sxr^a region.
