  The haplotypes of 221 informative N2 offspring from the [Cd/+ x DBA/2J) x A] cross were analyzed. D6Mit13a, D6Mit219a, D6Mit135 and D6Mit111 were tightly linked to the Lrp6 locus (LOD = 62.6; Chi-square = 215, P<0.000001;00 - 1.4 cM at 95% confidence interval). The distal limit of the Lrp6 critical region is D6Mit301, with a LOD score of 65.3 (Chi-square = 209, p<0.000001;0.7 - 5.4 cM at 95% confidence interval). Linkage analysis defines a critical region between D6Mit135 and D6Mit301 and a recombinationbreakpoint for Lrp6 between D6Mit111 and D6Mit301. Thus Lrp6 is placed with a 0.2 cM interval on the MGD Chromosome 6 consenus map, or in a ~ 0.4 mB on the MGD physical map.
