Authors summed up the mapping data for the Lgn1 locus and the Naip gene cluster on mouse Chromosome 13 from J:37707, J:42381, J:49067 and J:57778. The minimal interval for Lgn1 is a 0.32 cM region delineated proximally by D13Die6 (2/1270 recombinations each). Physical mapping suggested the size of the Lgn1 locus between 125 - 130kb containing six copies of the Naip gene. Birc1b is most closely linked to Smm1 followed by Birc1e. The suggested order of markers is: centromere - D13Die6, Smn1 - Birc1b - Birc1e- Birc1a - Birc1d - Birc1f - Birc1c - D13Die3. The order of Naip, Birc1c, Birc1d and Birc1f are not known with certainty. Smn1 and Serf1 have been segregated from Lgn1 (J:57778). The cosegregation of Lgn1 and Naip together with detected Naip protein expression in host macrophages as well as its modulation after phagocytic events and during intracellular infection make it an attractive candidate for the Lgn1 locus.
