Notes
  • Experiment
A total of 368 (C3HeB/FeJ x C57BL/6J)F2 mice were analyzed for resistance and susceptibility to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. A subset of 46 F2 susceptible mice exhibited linkage of the susceptible phenotype (marker symbol Sst1) with D1Mit46 on mouse Chromosome 1. The strongest evidence for linkage was found with D1Mit49. Further analysis of 367 F2 mice showed Sst1 to be located within a 11 cM interval flanked by D1Mit46 and D1Mit187. Moreover fine genetic mapping using F2 and backcross progeny showed Sst1 to be located within a range flanked by markers D1Mit334 and D1Mit45 which included D1Mit49.
