  Subsequent to this reference H28-1 was withdrawn to equal H28.
• Experiment
  The authors analyzed the strain distribution patterns (SDPs) from a panel of CXB recombinant inbred lines derived from the parental B6 and BALB/c strains. The data suggested a linkage concordant with an interval on Chromosome 3 containing the H28 locus. This linkage was confirmed by RFLP analysis with the B6, BALB.B and B6.C-H28c congenic strain. Bands detected in the BALB.B DNA were also detected in the B10.C-H28c strain suggesting that H28-1 was a polymorphic locus segregating with the H28 congenic interval.
