Notes
  • Experiment
The authors established a series of backcrosses in an attempt to refine the map position for age related hearning loss in mice. CAST/Ei mice were mated to 129P1/ReJ, A/J, BALB/cByJ, BUB/BnJ, C57BR/cdJ, DBA/2J, NOD/LtJ, SKH2/J and STOCK760. Subsequently the F1s were backcrossed to CAST/Ei mice. In approximately 1000 N2 offspring the map position for Ahl could be refined to a position wihin 2 cM on mouse Chromosome 10, flanked by markers D10Mit60 and D10Mit130 with a peak at D10Mit112. Linkage disequilibrium analysis of markers within the Ahl region were in approximate agreement with the genetically mapped location.
