  Serum IgG2a levels varied between strains whereby mice carrying the H2^b haplotypes had significantly higher levels then mice carrying the H2^k and H2^d haplotypes. The variability enable the authors to map a gene (Igis1)controlling IgG2a levels to a 27 kb region of mouse Chromosome 17, bordered by markers D17H6S56E-5 and D17H6S56E-3.
