    Mapping experiments using (SWXL-4 X ABP.EL-El2)F2 mice as well as various congenics confirmed the existence of Szf1 in the D7Mit23a region of mouse Chromosome 7, however these results indicated that the Szf1 QTL interval was in fact somewhat more distal.Moreover five congenic strains derived between ABP/Le and SWXL-4 mice were informative to indicate that in addition to the Sfz1 region a teleomeric region of mouse Chromosome 7 was also involved in the seizure susceptibility phenotype conferred by Szf1. Therefore there may be two QTLs on mouse Chromosome 7.
