Notes
  • Experiment
QTLs effecting body weight, obesity and muscle weight were found on mouse Chromosomes 1, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 17 and for leptin in 14 and insulin in chromosome 4. The cross used in the genome wide scan included approximately 400 F2 mice from a (DU6i x DBA/2)F1 intercross. DU6i is a strain selected for high body weight. 93 microsatellite markers were analyzed in the genome wide scan. Locations of the QTLs were provided by the authors and may not be equivalent to the closest microsatellites. Kidney weight QTL 6 was mapped to mouse Chromosome 2 at position 26 within a range from cM position 11 to 39.
