Notes
  • Experiment
Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) effecting age specific body growth rates in mice were mapped using 535 F2 intercross mice from a (LG/J x SM/J)F1 cross. LG/J mice exhibit a large size at 60 days of age whereas SM/J exhibit a Small size. QTLs on 16 of 19 autosomes effective age specific growth was detected in a genome wide scan using microsatellite markers. QTL markers Bgeq9 and Bgeq10 are associated with early growth rate and mapped to mouse Chromosome 11 near D11Mit15 and D11Mit48 respectively. A QTL marker Bglq8 was associated with late growth near D11Mit62.
