    Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) effecting age specific body growth rates in mice were mapped in a previous experiment using 535 F2 intercross mice from a (LG/J x SM/J)F1 cross (See J:32208). Here an additional 510 F2 mice were analyzed. LG/J mice exhibit a large size at 60 days of age whereas SM/J exhibit a small size. QTL marker Bgeq9 was reaffirmed as mapping to mouse Chromosome 11. Another marker for early growth mapped more distal in the first cross using the 535 F2 mice from the first cross.
