Notes
  • Experiment
The authors examined a correlation between C9.1 expression and Akp1 isozymein spleen cells from F2 progenies of (C57BL/6 x YNA)F1 mice. This strain combination was chosen because the C9.1(-) C57BL/6 mice carry the Akp1a allele and the C9.1(+) YNA mice carry the Akp1b allele. No recombination between the Akp1 and C9.1 gewne was observed indicating close linkage between the loci. Immunoprecipation analysis of the C9.1 antigen revealed that C9.1 was the Cd244 protein. The difference in molecular weights of the proteins was due to differential glycosylation of the protein backbones.
