Notes
  • Experiment
C57BL/6J are sensitive to salt induced hypertension whereas A/J are non-salt-sensitive allowing for a genome wide scan for loci contributing to hypertension. 250 male mice from reciprocal backcrosses between (C57BL/6J x A/J)F1 x C57BL/6J were informativein mapping 6 Blood pressure QTLs to 5 mouse chromosomes. Bpq3 had a main effect and mapped with markers on mouse Chromosome 4. Bpq3 mapped with D4Mit164 with an F value of 56 and a P value of 1.3 x 10e-12. A suggested candidate for Bpq3 was Npr2.
