  The authors analysed sequence from BAC clones containing the mouse Abca1 gene and found 2 downstream genes. Mouse genes Nipsnap1 and Gbas were located 8 kb and 10.4 kb downstream of Abca1 respectively. Authors called these genes mSNAP1 for Nipsnap1 andmSNAP2 for Gbas.
