Notes
  • Experiment
The authors indicated that short-wave sleep in mice can be measured by EEG activity within the 1-4 Hz range or delta power. Sleep loss results in an increase in delta power whereas excess sleep causes a decrease in delta power. The differences in delta power could be measured as a QTL in 25 strains within the BXD/Ty recombinant inbred line. QTL Dps2 was found on mouse Chromosome 12 with the closest linked marker identified as D12Mit280 with a LOD score of 3.30. The suggestive range was from 52.4 - 58.2 cM.
