  The authors analysed mutant genomic DNA from the t^w18 and t^h20 deletions. The analysis revealed that Sox8 lay outside the deletion regions and between the deletions. These data exclude Sox8 from contributing to the deletion phenotypes. Previous studies on an EUCIB backcross showed that Sox8 is located proximal to D17Mit100 and D17Mit80 and distal to the breakpoint of the t^w18 deletion.
