Notes

The Gt(ROSA)26Sor insertion on mouse chromosome 6 confers resistance to ENU induced mammary tumors in female C57BL/6J-Apcmin/+ animals. Gt(ROSA)26Sor maps between D6Mit105 and D6Mit11 and was generated on a 129X1/SvJ genetic background. Female animals from recombinant congenic lines containing Gt(ROSA)26Sor on a C57BL/6J-Apcmin/+ background are resistant to mammary tumors following ENU treatment while female animals from congenic lines containing 129X1/SvJ-derived DNA from D6Mit36-D6Mit150 on a C57BL/6J-Apcmin/+ background are susceptible. Authors suggest mammary tumor resistance is not due to a 129X1/SvJ-derived passenger gene that modifies the mammary tumor promoting effect of Apcmin, but is the direct effect of the Gt(ROSA)26Sor insertion on mouse chromosome 6.
