    Restriction Landmark Genomic Scanning (RLGS) was performed on liver tumor samples from MTD2BL/6 animals. A region on mouse chromosome 3 near D3Rik65 and D3Rik66 (approximately 19.2 cM) was found to be associated with liver tumors and included candidate oncogenes Anxa5, Evi1, Idd3, Il2, Ccna2, and Fgfr. Further analysis of this region excluded Evi1, Il2, Fgf2, and Anxa5 os possible candidate genes. Expression of Ccna2 mRNA and protein was shown to be upregulated in liver tumors, indicating the possible role of Ccna2 in liver tumorigenesis.
