    119 polymorphic markers were screened in 633 (MRL/MpJ x SJL/J)F2 female animals to detect loci associated with femur breaking strength. 7-week old female animals were used for the study. Fembrs3 was identified on mouse Chromosome 10 with LOD=2.7 at D10Mit95. MRL/MpJ-derived alleles confer increased bone strength with dominant inheritance at Fembrs3.
