  A phenotypic mutant was identified in an ENU mutagenesis screen. complementation tests between nmf5 and C3HeB/FeJ-Scn8a ^med-J revealed that the motor phenotype of the nmf5 mouse an allele of Scn8a. To confirned the mutant nmf5 also segregated with markers on mouse Chromosome 15 with the following order indicated - D15Mit43- 1.3 cM - Scn8a - 5.3 cM - D15Mit35.
