Analysis of five BAC clones: 205A4 (GenBank: AC007080; 39,909 bp), 11M9 (GenBank: AC087216; 226,594 bp),384N12 (GenBank: AC087217; 77,366 bp), 214O16 (GenBank: AF111102; 158,852 bp), and 322F16 (GenBank: AF111103;159,179 bp) resulted in the derivation ofa 589-kb contiguous region within the H2-Q region. The BACs were from the 129/SvJ strain and were informative to order the Q region genes of the H2bc haplotype. The following order was provided: (H2-Q1) - (H2-Q2)- (H2-Q3) - (H2-Q4) - (H2-Qe1) - (H2-Q6fr) - (H2-Q7) - (H2-Qo1) - (H2-Q6) - (H2-Q9) - (H2-Q10). Whereas most of the H2-Q genes are present in 129/SvJ two genes, H2-Qe1 and H2-Qo1 appear to be novel and unique to the bc haplotype. In addition a gene fragment similar to H2-Q6 was also unique to the bc haplotype and mapped between H2-Qe1 and H2-Qe7.
