Notes
  • Experiment
The authors identified the mouse histone genes by searching the public and Celera assemblies of the mouse genome. Replication-dependent histone mRNAs were identified as those regions that encode histone proteins and ended in the stem-loop sequence. The mouse ortholog of the human HIST4H4 gene was located on mouse chromosome 6 (band G1). This region is syntenic with the human gene location on chromosome 12.
