  The authors used interspecific backcross analysis using progeny derived from the [(C57BL/6J x M. spreus)F1 x C57BL/6J] mice to map the Usp15-ps1 pseudogene to the proximal end of Chromosome 14. This mapping was also confirmed by comparing the sequence with the mouse genome assembly.
