  • Experiment
    The authors constructed a physical map of the ru2 interval from a contig of 16 overlapping BACs. Three BACs were fully sequenced and several genes were identified. One gene showed obvious abnormalities of the ru2J allele in RT-PCR assays. Further analysis confirmed that mutations in the Hps5 gene were responsible for the ru2 phenotypes. The order of markers in this interval on Chromosome 7 are : 3' - Sergef - 5' - 3'- Tph1 -5' - (Saa1, Saa2, Saa3, Saa4) - 3'- Hps5 - 5' - 5'- Gtf2h1 - 3' - 5'- Ldhc - 3' -3'- Tsg101 - 5'.
