  The authors used the Celera mouse genome sequence database to locate the Cxcl5 gene between the D5Mit272 and D5Mit205 markers. Further analysis showed that the Cxcl5 gene is closely linked to Cxcl7 and Cxcl4 which start 9kb and 13kb respectively from the Cxcl5 start site.
