    The authors used the mouse genome sequence and identified the presence of several Akr genes in a 300 kb region on mouse Chromosome 13. The order and orientation of these genes were determined to be: 5'- Akr1c14 - 3' - 3'- Akr1c19 - 5' - 5'- Akr1c13 - 3' - 5'- Akr1c19 - 3' - 3'- Akr1c12 - 5' - 5'- Akr1c6-3' - 3'- Akr1c20 - 5' - 5'- Akr1c21- 3' - 3'- Akr1e1 - 5'.
