  In order to map the dominant Szt1 seizure phenotype, the authors outcrossed B6-Szt1/ mice to BALB/cByJ (BALB) mice and then backcrossed the F1s to BALB/c mice. In excess of 300 backcross mice indicated that marker Szt1 was shown to map with D2Mit213 with a LOD score in excess of 8.0.
