  Ptch2 was mapped using the T31 WICGR Mouse/Hamster radiation hybrid panel. Primers from the 3 UTR region (defined by EST #AA967724 in Genbank) were used. The 3 prime primers amplify DNA from the 129/Sv mouse strain, but not from hamster. Results for the 94 radiation hybrids of the panel locate the Ptch2 gene between D4Mit258 and D4Mit201.
