    Linkage analysis was performed on 267 animals from a 4-way cross involving (BALB/c x C57BL/6)F1 x (C3H/He x DBA/2)F1 to identify QTLs associated with susceptibility to fibrosarcomas. 90 polymorphic loci were analyzed resulting in the detection of 3 fibrosarcoma-associated QTLs.

    Fibrs1 and Fibrs2 mapped to 11 cM (P=0.0117) and 92 cM (P=0.0186) on mouse Chromosome 4, respectively. Fibrs1 explains 34% of the phenotypic variance and Fibrs2 explains 27% of the phenotypic variance.

    Fibrs3 mapped to 24 cM on mouse Chromosome 13 and explains 26% of the phenotypic variance.
