Notes
  • Experiment
Analysis of the strain distribution pattern of 25 BXD recombinant inbred (RI) strains identified a locus associated with dominant resistance to the malignant histiocytosis sarcoma virus (MHSV). This locus mapped to 57 cM on mouse Chromosome 13 and is named Mhsvr1. Pmv9 (54 cM) and Iapls3-14 (59 cM) are 2 genes showing significant linkage (95.8% probability) to Mhsvr1. Mhsvr1 is syntenic to human chromosome 5q35, a region that is associated with human malignant histiocytosis (MH).
