Notes
  • Experiment
99 (CAST/Ei x NSF/N)F1 x NSF/N backcross animals were typed at 58 polymorphic loci to map Lvif (leukemia virus-inactivating factor). Parental strain CAST/Ei is factor-positive whereas parental strain NSF/N is factor-negative. Lvif mapped to 70 cM on mouse Chromosome 10 near D10Mit269. Apof was identified as a tightly linked candidate gene for Lvif. However, sequence analysis of Apof did not reveal polymorphism that would lead to expression differences between LVIF-positive strain BALB/cJ and LVIF-negative strain NSF/N. The position of Lvif is syntenic to human Chromosome 12q13-14.
