  The authors showed the following order of loci on mouse Chromosome 18: (Npc1, D18Mit110) - 10.9 cM - D18Mit60 - 5.3 cM - D18Mit202. A LOD score of 9.4 score for Npc1 with D18Mit110 was indicated. Complementation tests with Npc1 (Niemann Pick type C1) showed that NMF164 represents an allele of Npc1, i.e. three heterozygous matings (Npc1spm/J x NMF164) resulted in 12 affected mice in a total of 28 progeny.
  
  The mapping of nmf375 was reported as follows: nmf375 mapped 4cM from D18Mit219 (LOD:6.6); and 7cM from D18Mit110 (LOD:5.8).
