  Congenic mice were analysed to show that the activation of Stat5 can be modified by a small section of mouse Chromosome 7 between Fes (39 cM; 69.9 Mb) and Hbb (50 cM; 93.6 cM).
  
  The congenic mouse used in this experiment is B6.C-Tyr^c H1^b Hbb^d/ByJ. This strain is commonly referred to as "HW80".
