    The position of the MybPlt4 mutation was mapped using linkage analysis. 65 animals from a (C57BL/6-MybPlt4 x 129S1/Sv-Mlptm1Wsa)F2 intercross were typed for 148 SSLP markers. MybPlt4 mapped between D10Mit213 (11 cM) and D10Mit214 (19 cM).

    Linkage between the MybPlt3 and MybPlt4 mutations was confirmed using 68 animals from a (C57BL/6-MybPlt3 x 129S1/Sv-Mlptm1Wsa)F1 x 129S1/Sv-Mlptm1Wsa backcross. These animals were genotyped for markers closely associated with MybPlt4. As suspected the MybPlt4 interval showed tight linkage to MybPlt3.
