  Mapping data were presented to refine the genomic region responsible for QTL Sst1. Male progney from crosses using C3H.B6-sst congenic and C3Heb/FeJ strains were used to refine a nonrecombinate region for Sst1 between markers D1Mit80 and D1Mit415. The minimal Sst1 critical region was defined as between markers D1Mit439 and D1Mit49. This region included the Ifi75 gene. This led the authors to suggest that the mouse Ipr1 locus is silenced in Sst1 suceptible mice.
