Notes
  • Experiment
QTLs linked to the trans regulation of genes involved in the corticotropin-releasing factor system were mapped using male animals from 28 BXD recombinant inbred lines (B=C57BL/6J; D=DBA/2J). Transcript abundance of Crh, Crhr1, Crhbp, and Avp were used asquantitative traits. Parental strain DBA/2J exhibits lower transcript abundance of all 4 genes compared to parental strain C57BL/6J. A panel of 975 polymorphic loci was used for linkage analysis.

Significant linkage to Crh expression mapped to a locus at 89.2 cM on mouse Chromosome 1 and is named Crhtaq1 (Crh transcript abundance QTL 1). The 95% confidence interval of Crhtaq1 spans 40 cM. Hipp1 (89 cM) is a previously identified QTL mapping near Crhtaq1.
