  The Tmhs^hscymutation arose spontaneously at The Jackson Laboratory in a B6.MOR-Gusba line. The Authors used a pooled DNA strategy using microsatellite markers to show that the mutation mapped to mouse Chromosome 17. To fine map the Tmhs^hscy mutation, the authors produced 1,160 F2 mice from an intercross between (C57BL/6-hscy x CAST/Ei) F1 hybrid mice. Tmhs^hscy mapped within a 0.11 cM location between Fkbp5 and Mapk14. Included within this region are markers Clps, Srpk1 and Slc26a8.
