Notes
  • Experiment
A QTL influencing hypothalamic norepinephrine levels named Hnl was mapped in a panel of CXB (C=BALB/cBy, B=C57BL/6By) recombinant inbred (RI) strains. The strain distribution pattern of Hnl correlated with H23 (63.7 cM) on mouse Chromosome 3. Parental strain C57BL/6By exhibits low hypothalamic norepinephrine levels whereas parental strain BABL/cBy exhibits high hypothalamic norepinephrine levels. The existence of Hnl is further supported by the observation of high levels of hypothalamic norepinephrine inB6.C-H23 congenic animals.
