Notes
  • Experiment
Using a panel of markers from 306 (NIH/Ola x outbred Mus spretus)F1 x NIH/Ola (NSP) backcross animals, to identify skin tumor susceptibility QTL, two linkage peaks were indicated.

The proximal locus, Skts14, mapped to app 14.0Mb on Chromosome 7, peaking at Tgfb1 a very strong candidate gene for influencing cancer risk.

Previous studies [J:27733] demonstrated the existance of a skin tumor susceptibility locus, Skts1, on proximal chromosome 7 that controls papilloma development. The current study using the same cross, confimed this QTL.
