  A series of nested deletions was were used to show that the Clcn6 locus was in the oppsoite orientation of Mthfr. Exons 1 and 2 of the Clcn6 gene overlap the 5' regulatory sequence of Mthfr. The authors went on to state however that the 5' bountry of Mthfr remains undefined.
