  Affected mutant mice were crossed with inbred 129S1/SvImJ and/or BALB/cByJ mice. The F1 offspring were then intercrossed to obtain F2 mice,tail DNA was prepared for mapping using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers. Polka was shown to map to mouse Chromosome 7 from 75 - 100 mB.
