Notes
  • Experiment
A series of Aprt- CAK cell sublines with known karyotypes were analzyed for Aprt-ps using Southern blots probed with pSAM-1 or p15. Three of these were missing the m8 Chromosome and displayed the 3.2 kb Aprt-ps fragment of the AKR/J parent; six were missing the normal Chromosome 8 and 5 of these diaplayed the 6.1kb Aprt-ps fragment of the C57BL/6J parent. One clone contained three copies of the m8 Chromosome and displayed an exceptional hybridizing band. Eleven of twelve clones with the original Chromosome 8's were heterozygous as expected; the remaining exceptional clone was missing the 3.2 kb band, but the 6.1 kb band was amplified. Taken together, these data support the assignment of Aprt-ps to Chromosome 8.
