  Somatic cell hybrids were constructed between Chinese hamster cell line E36 and mouse embryo fibroblasts from inbred strain SEC/1ReJ (MEC hybrids), peritoneal macrophage cells from inbred strain A/HeJ (MACH hybrids) or C3H/HeJ (CHE hybrids). Of the 7 discrepant clones, 6 were not independent isolates; the discrepancies are most probably attributed to one chromosomal rearrangement.
