  slowlearner (slwr)ENU mutant mice were generated using a pure C57BL/6J background . For mapping analysis slowlearner mutants mice were mated with BALB/cByJ or 129S1/SvImJ and the F1s were intercrossed. The resulting F2s were phenotyped in the fear-conditioning test. slowlearner appeared to map with D12Mit171 in mouse Chromosome 12 with a LOD score of 6.5.
