  Mice carrying partial and complete t haplotypes were analyzed on Southern blots for D17Rp17e. All complete haplotypes tested (t^w5, t^w32 and t¹²) carried D17Rp17e^b (6.3 kb) fragment. Two distal partial t haplotypes (t^h17 and t^h18) did not carry the fragment. All of the proximal partial t haplotypes (t^ae5, t^w18, t^h45, t^h53 and t^h2) carried the complete t specific pMK174 fragments. These results suggest the assignment of D17Rp17e to the proximal portion of the t complex on Chromosome 17.
